[It takes two minutes for the monster to smash the house to pieces, just as Jason's feeling hopeful that he might make it out. Welp, at least the family made it out, even if the Joker got away.]

[ Bruce stops the motorcycle, the engine barely being able to stop before he's folding himself into two, leaping up from the seat to land on the monster's head. His knees bent immediately, and he flipped himself off, landing on the ground. ]

Jason! [ He's shouting now, panic edging into his voice even as he faces the monster again, the house falling around him. ]

Jason! Get the hell out of here!

[Jason's desperately trying to pick himself up off the floor as he pushes the family out the door. He can't just leave Bruce here, but the Darkness is swarming outside, howling and screaming from the Joker's prodding. Already, one of the children is being attacked and the vigilante's torn between his own father and the girl. ]

Bruce! [He can't leave Bruce here.]

Move!

[ He can't turn his back, but he's sending a batarang into the neck of the monster that's trying to tear the poor child apart. The girl is shaking, trying to curl into Jason, terrified out of her mind. ]

I'll be fine. [ The monster's tail rocked the foundations of the house a little more, and Bruce felt gravel litter his head. His eyes flicker to the windows- he has a plan. ] Get out before the house is brought down. Go!

[Jason holds the girl to his chest as he shoves the family out, bounding out after them, from the fire into the frying pan and the sprawl of creatures all clustered around the house. He ignores the claws tearing into him as he runs, trying to spot a safe place among the buildings along the street. But which of them could be safe if the Joker had done something to them too? Perhaps the roofs would be the best place for the moment. And, without hesitation, the vigilante's handing his jumpline to the father and turns to face the hoard of creatures (as well as to watch and make sure that Bruce gets out of that house alive).]

[ The moment Jason disappears out of the corner of his eyes, Bruce darts to the side, landing on one foot- and the monster can't turn very well, for some reason. Bruce jumps forward, grabbing it by the throat and shoving it through the window, glass exploding around him and grazing against Bruce's armour. It keens, the sound sharp enough to make Bruce's head spin and ears threatened to bleed. He was far too close to it, and he could literally see the acid gathering in its throat.

He had to move faster.

There was a particularly large piece breaks off near his hand, long and sharp, and Bruce grabs it and stabs the monster straight in the mouth. Upwards, up, through the head, and then he jumps back and rolls away just in time for the spit to eat through more of the building. Then it screams again, thrashing on the ground, before it fades away.

Bruce turns and runs out of the house, seconds before the building crashes down. It's so close that the dust settles on his cape. ]

[When he hears the house crashing down, Jason isn't sure Bruce is clear, and even if he is, there's hoards of monsters surrounding the place, all teeming with the Joker's aggravation. So, he shouts up to the family,] Stay close to the roof, away from the edge!

[And he's dashing back toward his father, knife out and wishing he had his pistols with him. Too many times now he'd left them in his apartment and wished they were in his hands instead, even more so, when Jason spots an Eightlegs heading for his father. No no no no. He can't let it get to him.

He's pushing his legs to run faster, to conquer the burn in his muscles, to save his father.

He doesn't even realize there's crystal spider webs on the roof where he left the family.]
