My friends uncle defended the exhibit when the Contemporary Arts Center was sued for obscenity over the exhibit in 1990.

Wow. Sounds like a great panel. I remember a lot of that era very well, and hating Jesse Helms with a passion. If I remember right, didn't this spark Tipper Gore's PMRC?

I couldn't be happier watching Frank Zappa and Dee Snider face off against congress.

Interesting to know about american censorship/
In perestroika time(mid 80-s) I worked for Moscow State department of culture/My fanny job was - ligalization rock-groups/I was stamping lyric,to give rights for public performing.
For me = it was kind of conceptual artefacts,has my signature.
Somewhere I should have the copy)
