This post needs more whitespace at the end.

I highly recommend the XBox 360 Quick Charge Kit.

Also the Netflix integration with XBox 360 is great!

I recommend the following games:
- Poker Smash
- Castle Crashers
- Lumines Live

Also you probably already know, you can manage friends and messages and stuff at xbox.com.

Thanks - I'll probably get that at some point (re: charge). I picked up one additional controller but that's about all the extra stuff I got.

I get a free download with my 12 month xBox Live purchase and I chose Poker Smash (before I read your comment) because I remembered how fun it was. I might d/l Castle Crashers just because it'd be fun to play online with everyone. I got the new Lumines for PS3 so I'm good to go on that one.

You should get the demo of Left4Dead so we can kill zombies :-)

I have no idea how to actually play Poker -- would it still be a fun game for me?

As soon as you download the Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD Remix for Xbox Live, we can play online!

You know, I got it for PS3 and all it did was remind me how much I hate playing vs Fighter games on consoles. I can't do the darn moves with the pads. I need a coin-op joystick.

So go get yourself a joystick! I've had arcade style joysticks for every console that I've owned that had a SF2 game on it. SNES, Dreamcast, PC, XBOX, XBOX360... I've even constructed joysticks from arcade parts myself and even made a generic shell that I can easily update once the xbox720/PS4/whatever comes out!

Here's an easier option: HORI X360 FIGHTING STICK EX2/X360AC

There are a few others coming out when SFIV comes out also. If you get a joystick now, you can play SFIV when it comes out.

Sweet! welcome to XBOX world. Left 4 Dead is an amazing game and I hope to get to frag some friggen zombies with you soon.

Now comes the big decision Street Fighter 4 on PS3 or XBOX?
I'm going XBOX only because I already have the fighting stick...now if only I didn't suck at it so bad.

Anyhow have fun with your shiny new toy...
Oh and if your looking for a cool free Iphone app that manages your XBOX friends list and other cool stuff check out iNXES. It's pretty cool to see what your pals are playing while your at work.

BTW thanks for the tips on using the consoles for TV. I downloaded TvVersity and PlayOn and they both work perfectly. I cut my cable cords about a week ago and I'm finally getting in some good TV.

Re: L4D - Sounds good by me!

re: SFIV - Probably neither... I'm not gonna by anymore vs fighting games unless I get a real joystick for 'em. It's too frustrating without one.

re: App - Thanks, there were two listed in the store - I got the one that has the avatars built in. Nifty.

Sure thing I haven't checked out TvVersity actually but PlayOn works well on my ps3 and on my xBox (if anything, a bit better on the xBox but I don't like how it orders stuff alphabetically instead of by most recent etc on YouTube).

Cheers!

Hey cubtharsis, what's your XBox handle? I'm "The E Ticket".

I put all of my gamertags (XB, PS3, Wii) on my LJ profile for easy reference. :)

I played my very first game on an XBOX today. Halo 3. I've never been much of a gamer but it was pretty fun, although I did get killed a LOT. It was a Halo 3 tournament at Joel jbjbear and Albert's home. On the upstairs team were Joel, Jeff bearinslc, Jeremy jeremasaur and Brian brianmn. On the downstairs team were Albert, Joel's twin brother Craig and me. Despite our team being hindered by my clumsiness with the controller, Craig is like expert level and more than made up for me plus Albert is pretty good too. I was a very fun day!
