Taken from the LogoOnline.com list of the 50 Best Gay Bars in America... Actually pretty damn cool. We're the only bar listed from San Diego and the write-up pretty much tells it like it is. Last night I had two new faces order drinks - both mentioned the online nod. Thanks David!

The new website isn't exactly a powerhouse of information but, if anything, it sorta goes with our "it is what it is" way of doing things!

I can't remember if I went to Pecs or not when I was in San Diego, but it was painfully obvious the rest of the cities who their audience was. Their choice for the cities is one of the most panned bars in town, and you couldn't pay me enough to go to any of the ones in NYC (although I did agree with the OKC choice as I've been there many a time in a former life).

I agree with many of the choices (in the cities where I know as a customer a range of places) ... Pecs, ATL Mary's, Akbar/Abbey/Eagle, Eagle Tavern in SF, Maries Crisis in NYC and several others).

What is the place to go in The Cities these days besides the Eagle/Bolt?

Logo = twinks, clones, dykes and drag queens and if you don't live "on the coast", you're considered..."quaint". They should call the article "Best Bars in Places We've Actually Been". Montana got two spots because one of their contributors is from there. These bitches need to travel a bit.

"Cator Sparks, the Southern-raised gentleman who contributes to the NY Times and works in fashion PR"...need i say more?

Don't mind me...i've been "in a mood" lately. i just don't fit in with a world full fo "pretty boys".

Ah, I guess I'm coming at it from a naive place. I don't pay Logo much attention - I only knew about the article because a guy from the bar passed it my way.

I got the vibe from the article that the folks who put it together were over the glam vomitorium that most we-ho style clubz put together and were now celebrating the "alternative" spaces that gays frequent.

I saw this first on Tom/bearzendurham's LJ ... referencing Mary's in ATL (our friend Pete/pdsexton does his "Warm and Fuzzy" D.J. gig there) ... and let him know about you at Pecs and Dave White at The LA Eagle.

As Bryson and DaveO rightly pointed out I haven't been in SD much the past couple years, but on the occasions I've hit Pecs I've always had fun.

If the SD job pans out I can stop by on Mondays, too. :)
