No Sleep, Some TV, Lots of Monster

Sep 25, 2007 06:48

Well, for dems of you who told me to go to sleep on Twitter this morning I didn't listen.  Instead I watched Heroes and How I Met Your Mother (both enjoyable - I'm soooo loving that HiMYM didn't skip a beat and was the awesome and since I own a Nissan I didn't mind watching the 50 minute commercial with the Heroes characters in it).  I think both ( Read more... )

Movies that have yet to play in San Diego... Let me count them all swankyjournal September 25 2007, 15:00:25 UTC
Cheers from PTown

We've been waiting for Brand Upon the Brain - they were promising it in the Landmark schedule for the Ken but it's never come. When they DO come you have to hurry because if you blink you miss them. Oy...

We go to NYC a lot and that's when we catch the movies that never make it the SD.

I was really surprised it wasn't at least playing at the Hillcrest. Hopefully it'll get a broader release. The website for the film does mention it getting positive attention and more cities.

Watched Chuck last night and it was a very different show to combine humor and spy action. More like the comedy verson of "Alias". Not sure if it can survive though.

Chuck was very good! I liked it...I think the main character is likeable enough for the show to have longevity.

Across the Universe is not playing in Denver either...not yet anyways. So sad!

I agree...the little girl in Heroes will hopefully get killed off soon! Very annoying...she's no Dakota Fanning!

re: Chuck - I think my Tivo is recording it tonight when it reruns on Sci-Fi...

re: little girl - she doesn't need to die but maybe they'll put her in a coma or something for the rest of the season.

My brother is all raves about "Chuck." So, I recorded it and will have to give it a try tonight.

I'm unexpectedly jazzed about "Reaper." I haven't seen it yet, but what I've read about the Kevin Smith-directed pilot makes it sound like it could be the next "Buffy." Plus, the lead guy was also the lead guy in "The Loop", which I thought was bizarly funny and totally under-appreciated.

Every day I would like to scream to the streets, "Watch HIMYM!" Neil Patrick Harris is hi-fuckin-larious as "Barney." I have resolved this year to start reading his blog. And the Slapdown Clock is a small slice of genious.

I don't think the little's girls character is annoying. But the little girl playing her suffers from Child Actor Disease. Just a little too precociuos. And annoying only to me is that it's obvious her parents have paid for Phase 1 orthodontics. This is evident in the fact she has has 4 front teeth that are perfectly straight...then missing canines. (Like I said... Only an annoyance for me.)

I'm curious about Reaper. Partly because it sounds interesting and partly because it has the hot brother from Invasion on it. Woof!

Dooood - the slapdown clock made my night. I have at least 3 eps of How I Met saved on my Tivo'd because they were so classic. The slap plot line really is genius. The show keeps getting better.

I hear ya re: your theory on the child actress. She just takes me out of the moment when I watch her.
