My buddy Leo with the help of our friend Chip threw a great part today. Leo teaches science and he was trying to raise some money to buy equipment for his kids. A worthy cause for the boys n' bears to come together for some croquet (yes, croquet), food, silent auction, beers, and fun stuff like that. LJers there included

Hi Bri! Looks like a good time! How much money did ya all raise for Leo's kids? That's where we stayed when we were down there last, beautiful place, isn't it!! Hope you kicked Chipper's butt in croquet! Lucky Erik and I weren't there as we are the croquet anarchist and usually play "extreme croquet" --- one handed with a cocktail in the other. Hugs.

Yeah, the house was amazing (I mean, I didn't really see the inside much but the yard - Wow!). Chip said they raised over 3 grand! Not too bad considering there were about 40 people there total I think. It was a great idea though to have the buy-in croquet matches and the way to you could place bets on people and win prizes. Good times. (and as for yer anarchist croquet threats...BRING IT!)

that was part of the party - you were 'sposed to wear one and whoever had the tackiest got a special prize. it was pretty cool - I'd say just about everyone wore one except maybe a handful of folks.
