This weekend's box office had better be good...

Why would any stdio ever greenlight a film that needed a $207 million budget. Dear god, why? How can the remake of a classic ever hope to even make that much even though Peter Jackson is directing? I guess I'll be eating my words in a couple weeks.

P.S. When did Peter Jackson lose like 100 lbs?

Peter Jackson went so Hollywood!

Also, King Kong has been getting nothing but excellent reviews, and I have high hopes for it myself.

I had no interest in seeing it origionally since it was a remake, but the review I read today on CNN is like the best review I have ever seen them give. I REALLY wanna see it this weekend :)

Oh wow. I had no idea that people were this interested in it... I too want to see the movie seeing as how it is getting the best reviews of any movie this year, but seriously I don't think any movie has ever had a $207 million budget. I just did my economics thesis on predicting box office gross and this movie wouldn't really be pegged for making $207 mil domestic. I mean what has Peter Jackson done besides LOTR? And most of the people that took that to high box office were fans of the books. King Kong just doesn't have a built in fan base.

I don't know. Maybe it will be one of those movies that doesn't make much each week, but stays in theaters for like five months...
