"Hello," said Colin, leaning over the crib.
Robert hushed him. "Dennis is sleeping."
"He's tiny," said Colin.
"You were that small once," whispered Robert. "Well, you weren't quite that small; you were a bit of a heavy child."
"Why?"
"Some babies are big and some babies are small," said Robert. "But they all grow up just the same. One day he'll be as big as you are now."
"I'll be big," said Colin. "I'm big brother!"
Robert hushed him again. "That's right. You'll take good care of your little brother, won't you?"
Colin nodded seriously. "Yes!"
Dennis opened his eyes and blinked sleepily, tiny arms waving.
"Hello," said Colin, smiling and waving back.
Dennis promptly burst into tears, wailing and screaming.
