'Facilitation Fees'

OK, here I am trying to book for a return ticket with Jetstar Airways, and out of the blue they add a "Facilitation Fee" of 12 bucks. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?? Does anybody know? Is that an example of the unsavory oft-reported 'hidden costs'?

think that's the online booking fee. just another way for them to make money haha. unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about it...

Yeah.

I wanted to ring up Jetstar and ask them wtf it is, but the minutes of voice messages just turned me off.

I still ended up making a purchase as the total is cheaper than the fares I could obtain elsewhere.

But it certainly doesn't make for a pleasant consumption experience.
