The audition notice for Artemis and the Wild Things' production of King Lear is in Backstage today. Thanks, ceebeegee for pointing it out to me.

James Glenn, the guy playing Lear, was the exiled Duke in our As You Like It. I'm sure he'll be great ( Read more... )

I played Edgar in Lear this year. One of the best roles I've ever had. Which doesn't really help you but you could presumably go up to the guy playing Edgar and say, "You know, you're part is really good," or something, and I'm sure the look he gives you would be semi-priceless.

And I'm noticing on your list of Pros for Lear that you'd "fucking rule." That's a good pro.

When is this audition? I want a shot at playing Goneril. Playing a Shakespearian bad girl would rock. If you end up doing Artemis' show, you have to tell me so that I can drop out of Company. I mean, if Jason's not there and you're not there, and I could possibly share a stag ewith Roger again, what's the point?

Artemis & the Wild Things is accepting Equity and non-Equity pix & resumes from multi-cultural actors, stage combatants, and dancers for a Qin Dynasty "King Lear." Artemis Preeshl, dir.; Eric Starr, composer. Auditions will be held in March. Rehearsals in April and May during the evening and on weekends. Performances: May 21-June 1 in Central Park.
