Sondheim's new musical about Addison and Wilson Mizner, previously entitled Wise Guys (which was mounted as a reading with that title), has been renamed Gold. Faith Prince has been cast in the female lead.

Last I checked, Frank Wildhorn's announced musical-in-progress (based on the life of Camille Claudell) is called Gold, as well. His wife,

I don't think the Wildhorn project was ever called Gold... Linda Eder's famous song is called that, but as with most Wildhorn projects, the songs can really fit into any one of his musicals... nobody really knew where the song was from.

...but Sondheim's project has been called that since it was renamed from "Wise Guys" a couple of years ago.

Hmmm. I could have sworn it said in Linda Eder's CD that the new musical was supposed to be called that. Maybe I just made that up, though. I'll check Carlos' CD when I get home.
