It's nice to be settled in and mostly back to old routines.

Speaking of which, is there any chance I could speak to a certain Rupert Giles? I won't take too much of your time.

Apparently there are quite a few new employees of Torchwood. I look forward to meeting you all.

Also? I'm not angry for the moment, anyway but does anyone want to tell me ( Read more... )

romana, kyle, keeping busy, giles, jack, had enough already, abby, gwen, not again

I don't want to know who it wasn't.

Not even if it helps the process of elimination?

Oh, I already have my suspicions.

You're scary enough with things like this without being angry, Ianto.

Am I, now?

Oh. Yes. Sorry. Are you mister Ianto Jones? You're back? I'm sorry that I didn't notice sooner, I've been...busy. With my night job, we'll say.

This is about your job, I assume. I hadn't meant to step on any toes, I just...well, I didn't like the idea of a library without an acting head. You're welcome to reassume your position.

That would be me. Nice to meet you.

Oh, no. I was acting head for a reason, it was never meant to be permanent. You're not stepping on any toes at all, I'm quite happy for you to keep the position as you sound a lot more qualified. I believe you're actually a librarian by trade?

I was mostly wondering of there was any kind of position for me to come back and work there.

Mister Rupert Giles, mister Jones. A belated pleasure.

I did graduate from Oxford having studied history and library science, yes. I do find the work enjoyable. It's the largest reason I admit why I wanted to fill the position at all.

I'm sure there are hundreds. If not I'm sure that we can invent one. What do you do for a living yourself, Mr. Jones?

Indeed, but please, call me Ianto.

Ah see, much more suited than I am, yes. Although it's nice to meet someone else who studied history, I haven't met many.

Oh, this and that, but I'm an archivist by trade.

Um ... Ianto, I think I may have an answer to your question. Could you come down to the game room?

king_coffee March 6 2009, 20:40:01 UTC
...why?

On my way now.

Actiony?

Minutes later, Ianto was walking through the door of the game room.

"Jack? You in here?"

Ah, I may be one of those new employees, although I'm not an employee so much as an occasional consultant or advisor.

My name is Romana, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Jones.

I'll have to thank you for assisting Gwen while we've been away.

Likewise (Miss?) Romana. How are you, then?

To be honest, I wish I could have done more, although it appeared she had everything under control.

...well, as under control as anything in this city is. One would think after my travels that I would be used to a certain amount of chaos, but this City tends to stretch my definition of the concept.

And Romana is fine on it's own, I'm not so formal as all that.

Have you settled in since your return?

She's a very capable woman, yes.

It is hard to predict things here, isn't it? But we do what we can.

Romana then. And please, call me Ianto.

I have, thank you.
