He knows about EVE by now, about how Plasmids can run out temporarily, so at least that gesture is something to consider.

[ Tentatively Bhamba reaches for the button that opens the sliding door.
It's an exercise in its own right and he stops just before touching it.
Then he turns around, clutching his head with both hands. ]

I made it worse.
[The right thing is clearly to leave Bhamba alone. Jack steps back from the door, pulling himself up straight and managing with an effort to smooth his features into something resembling calm. It gives him a severe look that sits oddly on the soft lines of his features.]
I'm going now. Don't worry.
[He wants to run, but he keeps his step measured as he goes.]

When he finally does, Jack is already gone.
He breathes a deep sigh that is not entirely of relief.
Then he returns to Amy's room. ]
