[Elaine had left her dream without knowing it, sure only about one thing: she had to find Lucifer. Warily she makes her way through the unfamiliar corridors of Rapture, trying to ignore the screaming and the sounds of gunfire. Her fingers trace a line along one wall, as she wanders, lost and confused, and scared.]
[She sees a figure walking, and she thinks she recognizes who it is. Unsure, she calls out.]
[The figure jerks around, and Jack stares at her for a long moment, his eyes totally blank. He can't even comprehend her--she doesn't belong here, what is she doing here? His jaw works silently--it's a long time before he can form the words.]
Elaine, what are you doing here?
[His voice has a strange groaning echo to it, but despite the catastrophic damage to his throat, he can somehow still speak.]
[He stares blankly at her, as if the question of whether or not he's okay is absolutely meaningless to him.] I can't die here. I have half of Andrew Ryan's genes. The Vita-Chamber. [As if that explains everything.]
[Allen can't help but feel he's intruding on a personal moment when he spots Jack and his daughters. He doesn't quite understand how he got in this house in the first place, but he doesn't want to interrupt a family reunion and so he slinks back into the corner, smiling faintly. It's such a sweet scene.]
[And now that you aren't being mobbed by little girls, I'm noticing that torn out throat. You should probably get that checked.] Ah! I think coffee might have to wait, your neck-
[Delta stands in one of the doorways, leaning against the frame. He does nothing but watch the little one's flock to Jack. It leaves him with a dopey ass grin on his face. Of course, not that Jack can see that.]
[He suddenly steps back as the machine gun is pointed at him. The Alpha relaxes when Jack grins. Okay, he is safe.
Poor Delta can't help but feel a wee bit jealous, but he's glad for Jack. Delta does give a shrug of his shoulders at the younger man's question. He's not entirely sure how he got here.]
It's great to see you! Girls, this is a friend of mine--his name is Johnny, okay? [An apologetic laugh.] It took them a long time to learn to call me Jack. Only now they call me Daddy. Do you think that's okay?

[Jack stiffens, but another one cuts in.]
It's okay. It's one of your friends, Allen.
[Jack nods, swallows--sending a fresh gout of blood down the front of his sweater--and turns around, smiling shakily.]
Um...hi. D--do you want some coffee or...? I--please, sit down.

[And Jack whirls around, a machine-gun appearing in his hand from nowhere. But wait...]
Johnny?
[A grin spreads across his face.] How did you get here?!
