Still reading my way through Dick Francis's novels, and I thought I'd write up some brief reviews for anyone interested in trying them.

I'm sorry your namesake wasn't better value! Like the sound of 'Proof' and 'Hot Money' though (I do like the 'feuding sprawling family' mystery trope) - thank you for the reviews! I'm now actually reading 'Bonecrack' at last (about 50 pages in) and amused by how similar the set-up is to 'To the Hilt' and yet how readable I find it - Francis doesn't have every literary gift but he has readability for sure, and he uses this power for good more than many. 'Rat Race' and 'Whip Hand' are waiting in the wings, hoping to get 'Odds Against' first though.

I know I mentioned before that I'd heard (through Pros fandom) that Sid Halley had a TV series - it's called 'The Racing Game' and aired on Yorkshire TV, and Network TV seem to be about to re-release it, which is pleasing.
