*nods* I find myself wondering who they were, what their relationship was, what happened to them. If I wrote original fiction I'd be tempted to try and invent some answers.

That's just lovely - for the hugging and also for the sense of one nice peaceful day in the midst of what is presumably active service. Thanks for sharing!

They're sitting on sandbags, so I can't imagine they're very far from the front. Rest camp, maybe. There's a real sense of refuge about the picture--the stream, and the sun, and the comfort they're obviously drawing from each other--and also of fragility.
