Every kiss was real. That's the confusing thing Knockout, absolutely brilliant. The desire, the distance, the layers of real and unreal and the confusion about meaning, you've got them all laid out in such a neat, elegant way. The section on 'it' is particularly good, if painful for all the right reasons (Drink or it? is so exactly right). Paul's not making it easy for himself and yet one wishes it was easy for him anyway. Lovely stuff. *g*
