Avon and Blake, arguing over something unimportant. Mmm... chocolate. Plain Bittersweet vs Milk with fruit and nuts. (Or anything else unimportant.) Sorry for all the editing, but I was afraid I'd lose 1st place if I waited to think.

Oh, Mike. Right on the cusp there. I really need to watch more of Three's era.

Hello! I just want to say that I love that icon! I just watched S1 of that a few months ago, and that was pretty much the most awesome, "Wait, did that say what I thought it said?!" freeze-frame moment ever. :)

I get the Foreman reference, but which fandom did this happen in?

This pairing kind of makes my head hurt, I will admit. But that "I don't care about the rules any more" is interestingly foreshadowy for Yates, I think.

I wouldn't say I exactly ship them, but the wounded!Yates stuff in "The Time Monster" does incline me that way a bit, because the Brig reacts so strongly.

Yes, I think this moment is the beginning of the end of his UNIT career.

I'm so glad you liked it!

I wasn't a Brig/Yates shipper before watching "The Time Monster," but that scene made all the difference. As I said in my review:this storyline has made me ship the Brigadier and Mike Yates. How could I not, after the bit when the doodlebug hits the convoy and the Brigadier flies into a panic over the walkie-talkie: "Captain Yates?! Captain Yates! Mike!" (I love the way Nicholas Courtney's voice sort of breaks at that moment.) Use of first name = true love forever. Yes, it does. This is the Brigadier we're talking about, after all. Plus he touched Yates' face (to look at his injuries, supposedly, but I know better), and kept calling him "Mike," and stood damn close to him throughout that scene. Epic angsty gay military love!

The Second and Third Doctor eras are my favorites; I'm always trying to talk people into watching them.

I like Benton lots, but I must confess that I find Yates more interesting. He seems to have more of a hidden self than Benton does, and I'm intrigued by the tormented conscience that leads him to do what he does in "Invasion of the Dinosaurs." Also, he is very pretty.
