I'm a huge Leonard Cohen fan since I was little so it made me laugh SO loud. I never though of him as someone scary, but it's so funny that Minty were afraid of him.
I grew up hearing lots of Leonard Cohen songs sung by other people. When I was in college, I decided that I needed to go to the source, to hear him sing his own songs (it was an era in which I thought people should only sing songs they wrote. I'm over it now.) And then I actually heard him sing. All I can say is that was a short-lived phase. He makes every single one of his songs sound like a funeral dirge. I sure wouldn't want him creeping under my bed.
The last panel with Minty checking under her bed with the flashlight is fantastic. I'm really impressed with how well it turned out since it looks like only the flashlight was used for light in the photo. Wow.
I wouldn't translate "nightmare," since they're referring to the mythical nightmare and not bad dreams. I think the closest thing you have in Spanish is the pesanta.
I have never heard about the pesanta O_o I know the Nightmare, but since it's not known in Spain I decided to translate it as I don't know any similar creature in our myths :)
I never heard of it, either. Wikipedia is awesome! The pesanta is like the nightmare, only it's a dog or cat. It sits on a sleeping person's chest and gives them bad dreams.
