Vichy Aera Teint Pure Skin Breathing Fluid Foundation

2 weeks ago, 1 of my girlfriends who does not wear makeup passed me this Vichy Aera Teint Pure Skin Breathing Fluid Foundation. It was a gift to her but since she does not wear foundation, there's no better person than yours truly to be given this! I have been reading up on Vichy's BB Cream and was really interested to try it but the price seems a little unjustifiable for that small tube but I remember reading from a blog that this foundation has the exact same ingredients as the Vichy Aera Mineral BB Cream and the difference is that the Vichy Aera Mineral BB Cream has an SPF of 20 while this Vichy Aera Teint Pure Skin Breathing Fluid Foundation does not have any SPF and that the Mineral BB Cream comes in only 1 shade while this Skin Breathing Fluid Foundation comes in a few other shades.

The description of the foundation sounds so incredible! Especially for someone like myself who prefers the Vichy Thermal Spa Water over Evian. Skin breathing and hydrates is what I need for my current skin after being 'diagnosed' with extremely dehydrated skin and after having done a chemical peel last week.

I have personally compared both the Vichy Aera Mineral BB Cream and this Vichy Aera Teint Pure Skin Breathing Fluid Foundation's ingredient list at Watsons and they both contains the exact same ingredient, in the exact same order!

What is the difference between the Aera Mineral BB Cream and this Fluid Foundation then? It could be the % of the ingredient(s) in the formulation?

I remember seeing this at Watsons on the Vichy shelf of products and if I did not remember correctly, it retails for approximately S$40 for this 30ml tube. But I think there is a 25% sale for all Vichy products at the moment. Not sure when the 25% sale will end though.

The tube I had is Light Ocre 20. When applied on my skin, it looks peachy, definitely a yellow undertone. It did look a little fairer than my usual foundations.

When I swatch it next to my MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NC25, it is definitely wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy fairer that made it look a little pink but trust me, it is definitely yellow undertoned.

When blended out, you can almost tell instantly that the Vichy Aera Teint Pure Skin Breathing Fluid Foundation is definitely a wrong match for me.

Even though it was a wrong match for my skin tone but I still tried it anyway. I love how light-weight the foundation is and the texture of the foundation is simply a dream to blend! It is fluid gel-like texture that glides on the skin amazingly, even with my slightly patchy skin after the chemical peel. A little goes a long way with its buildable coverage. It sits on my skin perfectly for at least 5 hours before I had to blot. Hydration properties? AMAZING! I have never quite tried a hydrating foundation, moisturizing yes but hydrating, definitely a first for me. My skin felt really comfortable the entire day. Surprizingly, I really like this foundation!

I have been using this foundation for the entire week and even if I had to use a darker shade of powder to even out the shade, I really did not mind. The foundation feels really amazing on my skin and I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee it! It is hydrating, my skin feels so comfortable and it gives a really nice dewy finish that you almost can't tell I have had a chemical peel done! I have thought that it could be the job of the chemical peel that allowed the foundation to glide on so smoothly and flawlessly and so I tried my HG liquid foundation, the MAC Studio Fix Fluid which made my entire face flaky and cakey looking because the foundation was too drying for my current state of skin.

This Vichy Aera Teint Skin Breathing Fluid Foundation is my new found love for when my skin feels dehydrated. This is also definitely a foundation I will wear when I am taking a flight because of the extremely dry climate onboard the aircraft. I only wish for an SPF formula for this. When I am done with this tube, I will probably get one in my shade, at least 2 shades darker I must say. Though the 25% discount at the moment is really tempting but this tube will probably last me quite some time.

This is a must try for ladies who have dehydrated skin or for those who has patchy/flaky skin who can't seem to find a foundation that lasts on your dehydrated skin. I am loving this foundation and I am sure you girls will too!

While going through my stash, I found 3 other foundations that have a similar texture/consistency of the Vichy Aera Teint Pure Skin Breathing Fluid Foundation.

From left;

Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup - Between the Perfect Fit and this Perfectly Real Makeup, I definitely prefer the latter though the former is formulated for oily skin. Oil control isn't the best for this Perfectly Real Makeup since it is not formulated for oily skin but I really like the texture of this. It is a little moisturizing rather than hydrating but with a good oil control powder like the MUFE Matte Loose Powder of the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, this foundation works pretty well. Oh, coverage wise, it is sheer to medium so it is a foundation that I would use when I do not need alot of coverage.

CyberColors HD Plus Gel SPF26 PA++ Foundation - This gel texture foundation is also a dream to work with. Even without a well moisturized face, this foundation glides on and blends extremely well. HD property wise, definitely not as good as the SASA HD Perfect Liquid Foundation but I still like the texture of this foundation which is the only factor I like about this foundation.

MAC Studio Sculpt SPF15 Foundation - This gel based foundation blends so amazingly that makes one's complexion extremely flawless! I really like the finish of this medium to full coverage foundation. A little goes an extremely long way. You really need just a little of this product to work. It is supposely a hydrating foundation but I personally feel that it is a little moisturizing than hydrating but I still like it nonetheless because of its flawless finish! Oh, you really need to have a primer beneath it or it'll 'slide' off your face in a couple of hours.

Among these 4 foundations, my first choice will have to be the Vichy Aera Teint Pure Skin Breathing Fluid Foundation followed by the MAC Studio Sculpt SPF15 and finally the Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup.

Have you tried any other Gel-like consistency/texture foundation(s) that you can share your thoughts about?
