Here Comes the Sun...

Only not. Today ends the rainiest March since records have been kept. Of the thirty-one days of March, only two have been without rain. I'm expecting a commemorative plaque from Governor Ah-nuld to arrive any day now, depicting the sun breaking through a bank of clouds and proclaiming, It'll be baaah-ck ( Read more... )

That sounds like an awesome time. I adore AL (especially loved Bird by Bird) and MCC.

It was an evening of quiet voices and huge, booming emotion for me. Definitely a night to remember.

SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! Oh, wow, I am so jealous! Go you, speaking to Herself! It doesn't sound as though your "flaw" was really a flaw, either - I mean, what writer isn't delighted to meet a fangirl, coherent or otherwise? :D

**hugshugs** email to come soon if I survive Saturday in the mines!

I'd hoped to use words with multiple syllables. They dribbled out of my ears when my brain melted.

What a wonderful, wonderful evening!

I'm hugely fond of MCC -- several of her songs are on the OP soundtrack I made for myself -- and Anne Lamott does rule. That's so cool, even if you had a fangirl moment. ;-)

And I wish *we* would have some of your rain! It's bone-dry in bad bad ways here.

::Willing the rain eastward::

I'll be spending the next few days downloading MCC. Someone new to listen to, yay! She just floored me.

Sounds like a wonderful event. I would have loved to have been there.

Re: the rain...I guess you got ours! Because Connecticut is dry to the point of cracking earth. We are supposed to have rain today, but if it's a downpour it will just run off. I fear another very dry summer. Having grown up in SoCal, I have a fascination with rain. Didn't see it much back then. Snow, on the other hand, you can have. Really.

Have a lovely weekend. :)

I love the rain, but really, enough is enough. I'm right there with you on the snow, though. Once you've shoveled it, the romance dies.

No tee shirts, darn it, but they did have a table with books and CDs.

Van Morrison! Now I'm the one swooning from fangirl envy. How was the show?

The show was amazing!! He did everything from his new Pay the Devil cd...think my fav was 'Don't you get me high' He did Brown Eyed Girl and another oldie, can't remember. No opening band, started at 7:30 on the dot and left at 9. A piano and an organ, each with it's own player, a fiddle, a slide guitar, 4 different kinds of percussion, 3 pieces of brass, and he played 4 different instruments as well as 3 gutarists. He had some back up ladies that looked like they should be on Lawrence Welk (God I'm old) but could still belt the blues. It was tight!!! I took my best fieind for her birthday, and her teenage daughter, who did not understand why show was so short? I explained that real bands who can play more than 4 notes get tired. EG. They sadly ran out of tee shirts before I got there. You must understand, this is the first concert since the kids were born. Last time DH and I went, it was to Depeche Mode, and we were the only people in the audience who were as old as the band, but still..no MCC. Is she nice to talk to and listen to? ( ... )
