I would do option one. In my mind you are doing the leading research in that area in the SCA. Show it off. Option 2 is shinier in some ways but because it is so typical it loses some of it's luster.

I hope you have a great time creating whatever you make. I choose to be elevated on the spot to avoid this pressure because I knew it would make me nuts and I wouldn't have fun.

There is a part of me that thought of doing the same, but didn't pursue that as I do want certain folks to be there.

And option 1 was the clear favorite, so it is being done.

Congratulations. As a fellow costuming Laurel, I realize that you want to create a master work, but do consider letting your friends help you. I'm in the process of wrangling clothing for an elevation in 3 weeks and it really has helped to have a team working on it, instead of just one or two people.
