I did one with reed boning that the customer did not like, so I pulled that out and added cotton cording with a tapestry needle I poked through the lining. I left a couple inches of cording hanging out on each end and then washed the bodice in hot water a couple of times. The cording shrank a lot. I trimmed off the excess and it has worked well since then with no more shrinkage. The lining isn't beautiful since I poked holes in it to add the cording but If I did it from scratch in stead of modifying an existing pair of bodies I'd just leave the channels open and put binding on the edges after I sharank and trimmed the cording.

Thanks for that suggestion. I may give it a go, maybe, although switching to cable ties also keeps poking at me. I do like that idea of yours to dealing with cording, shrinking in the channels.
