A simple lace cord project

While I was sick this week, I had a hard time doing anything requiring my hands to hold anything fine (no embroidery), or standing for long (no fabric cutting) or, well much of anything but sitting which got boring after a short time. You can find lots of sources for these types of braids by searching on "kumihimo" too. I love using this technique, especially for a portable craft that fits in a pouch. I have usually a half dozen disks around on my crafting shelves.

I am thinking of making up a few more disks to work on different color sets, and to let the kids play with them, too.

And someday I may graduate to those nicer kumihimo disks.

Funny that you post this now, I have been playing with my kumihimo disk for the last couple of days, too. It had been out in the shed for probably a year, and I found it while digging through the bins of craft stuff out there. I tend to go in streaks--sew, sew, sew, weave, weave, braid, paint..
