Embroidery pricked, but there are delays...

A few days ago, I printed out the pattern onto card stock paper, folded a towel into a pad to place under the pattern, and got to prick out the holes. I had started with a silk pin, and realized the holes would be rather small, which would make the pounce a little more difficult to see on the fabric, so switched to a quilters pin. The pricker you can get at Lacis (though Etsy often has some interesting ones for cheap!) and will be handy if you ever take up bobbin lace. :)

I'll check out etsy, thanks!

And I do hope to pick up bobbin lace, as I'd love to add that to my costumes and embroideries.

And having said that, I can't find a pricker on Etsy now at all. Lots of folks making cute bobbins though!

Hello :-)

I'm in the market for building a prick and pounce kit, and I love Etsy.

Could you tell me which search terms are good?
"pricker" ? "awl" ?

In the vintage and/or supply sections?

I just missed out on some 1880 bone awls, coz they won't ship outside the US *sulk*

The RSN has a lovely pounce kit for sale, if you are interested in it for the future. I think I am going to order it. Can't wait to see pics of how this is turning out.

Thanks for the suggestion. I bought some pounce from Hedgehog a few years ago that I will be using. I'll keep the RSN kit for future reference. They also have goldwork scissors that look nice.
