I have a BB Torch 9800 and I love my phone! OS6 is a little different to OS5 but it's quite easy to get used to. £27 seems quite reasonable. I pay £35 with Virgin Mobile but that is for 800 mins. I know nothing about iPhones so can't help you there.

I've only just got OS5 - I'm thinking if I got a new phone now, it would come with OS6 on it?

I don't usually spend over the 300 mins I get with this phone, but the current contract I have now is only £10 a month for unlim text, unlim web and 300 minutes. But I've been told no contract will come with unlimited web now, and that 500MB should be enough to cover what I use it for, which is mostly social networking, a few websites, a journal, and a few other online applications that I have.

My phone seems to be working again now, but the thought of a new phone is looking good LOL! Though I may wait until a bit later, or my phone starts acting up again.
