So you want to be my friend on El Jay...

Oct 11, 2007 00:37

Hi! Welcome to my introduction post. If you're here, it must mean that you're interested in becoming my LJ friend. That's great! However, please read this post IN ITS ENTIRETY before friending me. It'll make this easier for everyone.

About Me
My name is Jen. I'm in my late 20s. I live in New York, USA. I'm a student. I am very shy. Beyond this, I try not to talk too much about my private life on LJ. I have a separate non-LJ journal for that, which I'd be more than willing to share with you (whether we're LJ friends or not). (I also have a Twitter and a Facebook account.) Just ask.

I am very opinionated and am not afraid to voice my opinion. I'm open to debate, but please know that you will most likely not change my mind. If I get the impression that you are trying to change my mind about something, I will get angry and defriend you and possibly bitch about how shitty and uncool you are. >__<

This LJ is primarily a fandom journal, so...

About My Fandoms
KAT-TUN: I was a hardcore KAT-TUN fan from early 2006 until their demise in mid-2010. I fell in love with them for their music and stayed for the gay and the wacky, LOL-worthy good times. My favorite members (from most to least) are: Kamenashi/Akanishi (a tie), Yamapi (honorary member), Nakamaru, Tanaka, and Ueda. Taguchi doesn't even make the list. (Sorry, Junno.) I think the two main LJ comms for KAT-TUN fandom are really shitty and spammy and I hate them. (I could tell you why, at length, but I don't think the reasoning really matters anymore.)

Since the split, I have been a Jin fan. ("Jin," not "Jinjin." I fucking hate it when fangirls refer to him as "Jinjin." >___<) And a fan of KT-TUN in their separate endeavors, but, as of this writing, I haven't been able to fall back in love with KT-TUN as a group. (Give it time.)

(And while I'm here, I will forever refer to them as KT-TUN (or occasionally KUNTT). This is because KAT-TUN no longer exists (since KAT-TUN = 6 members). In this LJ, if I talk about KAT-TUN, I'm talking about the group as it used to be, with six members. If I talk about KT-TUN, I'm talking about the group as it is now. If how I refer to them bothers you, then perhaps we shouldn't be LJ friends.)

My posts about Johnnies will be limited unless there's a new drama or song for me to flail about. Please don't friend me just because you see me around JE comms and expect an LJ full of JE posts.

Akame: I LOVE AKAME. And I hope that you do, too. And I'm all for senseless, delusional fangirling when it comes to Akame... As long as it's kept in the relative privacy of Livejournal, rather than, say, Twitter. I mean, these are real people. With real feelings. Who probably don't want us imagining them as lovers. If you can't understand that, then maybe we shouldn't be LJ friends.

Sometimes, I write Akame fanfic. PLEASE DO NOT FRIEND ME FOR FANFIC. I keep my fic over at kimi_no_story, so if you're only interested in fic, go join that instead.

Other Japanese Music: L'arc~en~Ciel, Kamiki Aya, One OK Rock, TOKIO, Kanjani8, Kawabe Chieko

Other Non-Japanese Music: Radiohead, Placebo, No Doubt, Barenaked Ladies, Bjork, Ike, The Who, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin

Kamen Rider: Kamen Rider is the greatest thing ever. Most of the posts on this LJ will be about Kamen Rider. I've been a Kamen Rider fan since 2004. My favorite series are Double, Blade, Kabuto, and Ryuuki. I ship EVERYONE.

Japanese Dramas: I have a list here of all the dramas I've seen. My favorites are Nobuta wo Produce, Gokusen, and Trick. I'm more likely to watch a drama if it has Kamen Riders in it (and most of them do). And my drama flail posts will most likely be about the Kamen Riders in it.

Anime and Manga: I like CLAMP. Any title by CLAMP. I ship KuroFai. I am also a giant Sailor Moon fan. And Fullmetal Alchemist. I don't post about these fandoms often. (Or at all.) But I could. At any moment! Be prepared!

The Koreans: I'm studying the Korean language right now and am slowly exploring Korean dramas and music. Don't be surprised if I start flailing about some Korean thing. Also, I'm open to suggestions! Recommend good (rock) music and good dramas!!!

Non-Asian TV: House, Glee, My So-Called Life, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Star Trek: TOS

I think that covers the basics and hopefully it'll give you an idea of what to expect on my LJ.
