Hi all

This will likely be my last post until after the New Year, which I say to cover myself if I really can't get online while I'm gone.

My mom does need to have neck surgery, though no date has been set yet. She can't do as much as she did so she will need my help while I'm there, which of course is fine.

My plane leaves tomorrow afternoon at 4

2. She requires cervical fusion in her neck, which will be accomplished by removal of the offending disc, a bone graft, and metal rods. Ouch.

Ouch indeed! That sounds like a very complex operation. I hope it goes well when the time comes.

I hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip my dear! While you are stocking up on cold preventatives I hope you are mentally stocking up on parentally induced frustration preventatives so that you can enjoy your time with your mother!

A friend lent me a two week supply of her Valium so I am feeling sufficiently happy and joyful. LOL, not really, but since Mom is feeling so yucky I am going to do my very best to respond kindly no matter how bee-yotchy she might get. I probably wouldn't be a ray of sunshine, either.
And thank you for the kudos. It's been a long time coming, but I feel great.

Sorry to hear your mom definitely needs the surgery, but I pray it will do the trick for her and relieve her pain. Keep us posted, especially as it concerns your plans!

Go you for reaching your goal, you are an inspiration! To be "just right" would be a wonderful thing, that's my goal, too. No need to be the skinny minnie I was when I was young, I just want to be "just right." ;-)

"Just right" is a very reasonable goal. My goal was never to wear a bikini or a single digit outfit. I just didn't want to look fat anymore, and I think I accomplished that.
It sounds like the surgery involves a rather difficult recovery period, but I told Mom it sure beats being in pain for the rest of her days.
