Barry Bonds Indicted on 4 Counts of Perjury, 1 of Obstructing Justice

So, Barry Bonds lied to a Federal grand jury in 2003 when he said he wasn't knowingly using steroids? No. Really. Color me shocked.

Only not, of course.

I don't think there's any question about it at this point, and haven't for a long while. Not only do I think Bonds should be barred from ever entering the Hall of Fame, but it's entirely clear that the Players' Union's objections to drug testing should be considered null and void - and I say this as a long supporter of unions. Baseball as a whole must have its reputation rebuilt. (And hopefully, the sudden attack of common sense would spill over to providing the game with a salary cap and revenue sharing.)
