Literacy tutor training today, and it was lots of fun. Kinda like school, and I've always loved school. I don't understand, though, why all the paperwork and verbal announcements clearly stated that today's training would be 10-4 ... and then the "trainer" (heh ... when I lived in Britain, this would have meant a kind of shoe) rather determinedly ( Read more... )

If her fur is seriously matted - can't be brushed out - you need to cut it out because the mat will start to pull at her skin and given enough time will actually create a wound from pulling her skin. Cut it before it does that, and while there's enough hair between the mat and her skin to get the scissors in safely.

It's likely that she isn't cleaning herself as thoroughly as she has in the past (which would explain the mats, the smell, and the kitty litter in her feet.)

The litter in her feet might also be that she's not shaking her feet off outside of the box - my cats used to sort of flick their feet ... but if she's feeling sore (like she won't pull on her claws to get them out of carpets) the flicking might be too much for her.
