Pomograntes ... or ... The Sad Decline in Restaurant Menu Proofreading

Aug 14, 2011 08:32

You play Dominion? It's the first game of that sort that I've tried and liked. I'm not good at it, but I enjoy it immensely.

My friend Lisa and I play 2-3 games of Dominion pretty much every Saturday. I gave her the original game as a Christmas gift a few years ago (in 2008, I think), and we both liked it so much that it has become a major habit for us. She has all the more recent expansions, and we tend to just mix all the cards together so that every game is wildly different.

I find that Dominion is fun even when I'm really really losing. I just enjoy buying Action cards and coming up with shifting strategies based on what each hand brings.

The only time I don't have as much fun is when my opponent (I've mostly only played 2-player games.) develops a deck that involves so many chains of actions and difficult choices that their turns take 10 minutes each time around. Just sitting there and watching someone else think isn't as entertaining as it sounds.

How long have you been playing the game? It sounds like you may have discovered it recently?

I played for the first time in April, and have only played perhaps a half-dozen games, but it's way cool. I'm a goofy player, but several of the family members are into tournament playing.
