Dear Yuletide Author

This is my very first Yuletide, so I hope I don't screw anything up. I'm also offering this year, so I'm looking at things from your point of view, too.

Okay, here's my request list. I'll try not to complicate things.

1. Stephen King - The Stand - Characters: Any + Original Character(s)

This is (still) my all-time favorite novel. I first read it when it was a Doubleday Book Club alternate selection, WAY back when it was first published in 1977. I have read this book, literally, a dozen times. If I don't know it by heart, I know it pretty damn well. You, Dear Author, don't need to be *this* in-depth. A single read-through (yeah, I know, it's a long-ass book, although it was much shorter as originally published, and to tell the truth, I liked the original better) and/or watching the mini-series will give you enough background. What I'd like to read is a story involving any or all of the listed characters interacting with one or two ORIGINAL characters. They can be *anyone* you want to create (I mean that: ANYONE), all I ask is that they be human and a survivor of Captain Trips.

2. Where the Heart Is (2000) - Characters: Novalee Nation, Forney Hull

This movie is based on a novel of the same name by Billie Letts, which I read before I saw the movie. Unlike most movies based on novels that I've seen, I really don't have a preference: I loved them both. If you've read it or seen it, you'll have enough background. The story I want to read is about Novalee and Forney, set after their wedding (in the movie). I want a romantic, sexy story about their honeymoon. I checked off "Mature," but if you can be sexually explicit without resorting to stroke-book description (I detest the word "cum," and "ungh, ahh, ooo," is overkill when "she moaned" gets the idea across), that would be ideal. If you can't, just fade to black. I'll understand.

3. Strange Days (1995) - Characters: Lenny Nero, Lornette (Mace) Mason

Wow, I can't believe this movie is 15 years old! =:O For background, you need only watch the movie. The final scene ends with the most tender, all-consuming, and completely unexpected kiss I have ever seen on film, and I'm old so I've seen a LOT of movies. :) Both these characters suffered beat downs: Lenny has a stab wound in his back and a bunch of cops went all Rodney King on Mace. If they were *real* it would be unreasonable to expect anything more than a short hospital stay for either of them. Fortunately for us both, they're NOT real. Keep their injuries in mind, but I want to see their lovemaking, as vivid and as tender as that kiss. Again, I checked "Mature," but see 2. (above) for my preference regarding explicit sex.

4. Eleventh Hour (US) TV Show - Characters: Jacob Hood, Rachel Young

I *loved* this show, and I was pretty miffed when CBS canceled it, although I knew it was an acquired taste. The ever-gorgeous Rufus Sewell played Jacob and the preternaturally pretty Marley Shelton played Rachel. You're going to have to watch or have watched the entire series to get an idea of who these characters are. Jacob is all deeply-felt loss angsty, and Rachel is all tough and determined FBI agent romance-resistant. What I'd like to see is them both getting over themselves and into a relationship, preferably sexual but I'll settle for a kiss at the door. There are episodes in the series that would lead quite nicely into a romance between them. Go for it.

Okay, that's what I'd like to see. I hope I haven't gotten *too* detailed. I'm not much of a romantic but I *love* romance (if that makes any sense) and sex, especially together. The kind of stuff I write is here on the Volepit. It's pretty much what I like to read.

A thousand thank yous, Dear Yuletide Author, and take care.

Kimberley
