Another year, maybe I will be successful about updating

Jan 31, 2013 15:46

Seriously, I wonder what is wrong with me! I keep thinking, oh I'll update and I last a week and then ... nothing. But it's a new year and everything we decide we'll do in the new year always works out. *big eye roll*Work is fine, nothing really going on there but giving performance reviews, writing objections and trying to stay current with my ( Read more... )

YAY, DISNEY WORLD!!!

on the stroller thing, you might want to point out to Mr. KA that the Disney strollers have to be left at the parks--depending on where you're staying, having a stroller to get from car/bus to your hotel room is sometimes the biggest deal of the day. Also, having one that fits the bigger kid too is nice, as it lets you corral everyone in the crowds. If he still doesn't want to fuss with a bulky stroller and you do end up going with the Disney strollers, it's generally fine. They give you a nametag to put on your stroller and everyone just shuffles around until they find the right one.

If you have any questions or anything, feel free to ping me; lord knows I've done more than my fair share of time with boys at Disney World. :D (If it catches fire or blows up, I can tell you allll about it. Princess stuff? Yeah, not so much.)

Also, AMEN on falling down the Avengers rabbit hole. Mine is more of the Clint/Coulson flavor, but Steve/Tony has its appeal.

The hubby and I have done tons of research so I think we're fairly ready. I think. I am concerned about separating and finding something cool for LM#2 to do. I don't have experience there, but it seems they have these huge play areas *g* So I believe we will be hanging out there a bit ( ... )

Oh, no way in *hell* would I take small kids to Disney World w/o a stroller, whether mine or renting one there. The sheer amount of walking wears *me* out, much less the so much shorter legs. There's no way you can carry them and the only self-contained part in all of the parks is Fantasy Land in Magic Kingdom. That's about the only place I can think of where you park your stroller and go from ride to ride. Everywhere else, it's a stroller line to the next ride.

And... I don't know that I'd say they have big playgrounds, but there's usually something nearby that can distract a younger sibling while the older one rides. Splash Mountain does have a playground nearby and there's a stage with characters and dance parties near Space Mountain...

There will be a stroller, just not sure which one. Event his morning the little one was doing grabby hands and saying "hold me". Ugh. That was just the trip down the stairs and to the car for the ride to school. :P So yes, there will be a stroller.

I haven't been to WDW in 10 years, and I know they redid Fantasy Land. I'm sure I'll be able to entertain the little one while the big one goes off and does some rides. Since LM#1 doesn't know what's there he is not going to "miss" anything, which is nice this trip. We will still make sure he does/sees the cool stuff. The biggest bummer is that LM#2 is not tall enough to do Star Tours :( He would have liked looking around etc, but I can't remember what the ride is like, so I will be spending time with Nemo at that point I think. they have some options to play there I think.

Hey babe!!! Congrats on the potty training and the trip!! Avengers has eaten me as well - but I'm still fairly well spread. I do seem to be on the downswing on SPN fic - or rather nothing good has grabbed my attention recently. I also was on a Skyfall kick the last week which has over ridden most everything else.

As for your enabler.... The nerve!!!!

The nerve indeed!!! My enabler has not disappointed!!! I'm so looking forwared to IM3 that ... I think the movie is going to leave me in pieces. Saw a small trailer during the Super Bowl where the plane is attacked, people fall out, Tony puts on the suit and goes after them, but there are 14, he is one iron man. Oh the angst in this movie is going to be huge.

And I try to read other things *g* but it's not working. I just want Steve and Tony or Clint and Coulson all the time. And I've been sticking my nose into SPN but I haven't found anything that has grabbed me much. I think because it's an "older" fandom for me I'm pickier. As for Avengers, I'm kind of trying a lot.

And yes, very happy about the potty training, he took to it quicker than LM#1 so woo! And the trip is one week. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I've already started piling the clothes I want them to have, and I keep making lists in my head, need to write them down or I will forget something.

Thanks for the lovely pictures. mmmmm so beautiful.
