I'd say hello in Greek, but I don't know how to type that!

I'm writing this from our hostel in Athens. It's definitely hostel-y, especially after the other places we've stayed at in Greece. The first night we were here was the night in a very nice hotel, thanks to Isaac's boss. It was GORGEOUS - possibly the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in some good ones. Then we drove to Tolo, a ( Read more... )

Ditto. I miss home more than I thought I would. I don't miss work or only seeing Isaac for a few hours a day, but there are MANY things I miss. I don't know how long it will be till I get my pics uploaded. We have a few days of at-home vacation where I'll try to maximize the last of my Isaac-filled time. We have plans to go see some movies, go to the beach, and eat at the restaurants we've been craving. Since I think we're going to end up under-budget for the trip (amazing, eh?), we don't feel too guilty about it. Especially since I still have birthday money too. =o)

That's great you'll have time after your vacation. I always seem to need a vacation after any vacation. You can catch up on sleep (from the jet-lag) and just enjoy being home.

And that's awesome that you still have money left over!

Yeah, that's what we thought. Although actually it just ended up this way because we saved so much money by coming home on a Wednesday and not having extra hotel/hostel nights. Hehe.

I know! I'm trying not to brag, but honestly a lot of it is because I'm so freaking anally thrifty. LOL. I can't just book the first place that looks nice and is somewhat cheap, I have to compare ALL of them more than once. Hehe. The other night we heard other Americans in our hostel talking about the price of their plane tickets and Isaac was like, "OK, yeah, wifey, you found us a GREAT deal." LOL

You should! I hadn't even thought of that, but that would be so cool. Well, if you can think about it, do. You can of course stay in our guest room and I'll take you wherever you want to go: beach, thrift stores, St. Augustine...

I got chills when we were there! The moment I realized I was walking on the original stone pathway in front of the Bema seat, that he also walked on... whoa. I just got chills again. And then yesterday we were on this rock/hill near the Acropolis where they think Paul addressed an Athenian crowd (possibly from Acts 17, where they had built an altar to an unknown God) and that was just so amazing, because I've always loved that passage. Also, one thing that has impressed me here is that even at the museums, they do not say, "biblical myth suggests that Paul..." They say, "This is where the apostle Paul..." It's definitive - like they don't even dispute his existence or what the Bible says. So refreshing, even if I know they don't believe it!

So glad that you are having a good time! Walking where Paul walked - wow. Your Europe party sounds like a blast! Any chance it will be in late July? I'll be in Orlando then! Without a car! LOL!

I wish you could come! But no, it will be in late June, most likely. I may try to visit you in Orlando though. Will you be staying with family again?

Keep having fun! I know what you mean about wanting to get home even when you are having a blast. I like my routines ;)
