And it's posted!!! Yayyyy!!

... but shay seems to like it. Shay loves it. I love a pairing that is unusual but is made to work by the skill of the writer. Chak and Ransom's backstory is dribbled down in delicious tidbits, just enough (no dreaded info dump from our Kim... no, no, no, she's too good for that!). There's powerplay and subtle mindgames of the best sort, and I can see how perfectly this would fit into Chakotay's story, making him the person we see in the show. Paris is written with finesse, and the perfect mixture of arsey and caring that I love. The Equinox canon is expanded to allow this story, twisted into pockets of AU, and allowed to run. I love B'Elanna and Janeway in the background, but written with caring, no character slaughter which is oh-so-easy to do when you're breaking apart canon pairings. I love Max and Rudy. Rudy and Chakotay... how perfectly, skillfully that is written, and of course C/P

I wrote you this but I'll say it again here. It's just the best to craft something for someone I have much in common with and who was so looking forward to this. If it's layered to the point where some of it's just crazy, it's only because I wanted it complex enough to reflect the kind of person it's for. big hugs!
