It's Shatner's World, and I Live In It

Mar 11, 2012 21:26

My good friend Andrea and I had the fortune of seeing William Shatner's one man show at the Pantages Theater downtown.  She had the brilliant idea of picking me up, driving to Universal City at the train depot and taking the rail to the Hollywood and Vine stop - so's we could properly get soused before the show.  Since I hadn't been able to ( Read more... )

Ohh, I so wish I could have come to this with you. I love the sound of the Frolic Room, and sitting and talking. It sounds wonderful. Can I come next time please? I think we would have a lot to talk about. *sigh*

Glad the Shat was worth it. The horses are intriguing.

And Ff.net? Pffffffffffffffffffffft.

Thank you for trying to find out about FFP. (I am still going to email you a letter to mail. I've just got home and realised I scanned my sigs as PDFs not JPGS so I can't insert them into a document. Stay tuned this time tomorrow). It's been 9 years. I'm sure another day won't make much difference. *huge sigh*

Hey, whenever you're in town, we'll carve out a spot. :-)

And as soon as you get the draft done, I'll definitely make sure it gets where it needs to.

As we say here, the "Shat" isn't up himself. I've come to really appreciate him (although I can't stand the original ST - shhh, it's a secret), especially his later works. After seeing Leonard Nimoy, I was also very impressed with him too.

Talking Heads. Sigh. I had "And She Was" pumped up in the car yesterday driving home. Love it.

I loved him in Boston Legal very much and have the boxed set. I feel the urge to revisit. I'm not that big on the original series but I like some of the movies they made. A highlight of the The Shat's one man show was how he explained where that prolonged three word drop in his acting came from. Apparently during a run of "The World of Suzie Wong" on Broadway, France Nguyen, his costar had a vendetta against some producer. Every time she saw him in the audience, she'd freeze up like a deer in headlights. Hence, the Shat's three word drop (to stall until she came to her senses) was born.

It's always the Asians that get the blame. What gives?

I loved the movie with the whales, but not much else.

It's either blame the asians or the guy in the dress. As long as no one blames me.
