Oh!Oh! *Raises hand* Question!

Just about every state is having early voting. I plan to go Saturday morning to make sure I don't miss out and it got me thinking.

What if someone votes today, but dies in a terrible vending machine accident for example before election day proper? Does their vote count?

The vending machine example was a cosmic shout out to season one of West Wing. More people are killed every year by vending machines than wolf attacks if television is to be believed ;)

LOL I love tv knowledge. I am always using smut book knowledge on my hubby. I can even kick his ass at Jeopardy with it.

Depends on where you live before you die. Better answer here.

I saw that. After I asked the question here, I asked Google. My question now is should there be a nationwide law? And if there is one, what should the law say?

I don't plan on dying in the next couple of weeks so the issue doesn't affect me personally, but it's something to think about.

I'd suggest a national law that standardizes voter registration requirements, creates a national database of who those registered voters are, and so on and so forth. No more of this "Well if you live here" crap with the different voting machines and registration requirements and who can vote how early and all that.

Register to vote, standardized mechanisms for how to vote, and standardized dates for when to vote. Simple.
