Title: Look Past Everything I Had Ever Learned Fandom: Les Miserables, film and book canon Pairing: Enjolras/Combeferre Rating: R-ish? Summary: At the barricade, from the release of Javert to Valjean, until the end.
Thank you so much! That means a great deal to me. <3 And that line was the first thing I wrote for this weirdly enough, and propelled the rest of it. :)
Dialogue from Laura. It's almost too much :D This is so well written and I could read exactly what it had extracted from you. Really beautifully done. It's been so long since I read the (apparently abridged!) book and have never seen the movie, so I saw this more in terms of the show we saw last month--that feel, those (faceless! where are my glasses!) actors, those voices, and I thought it worked so well with my knowledge and my impression (now so heavily shaded by Hugo's paintings, which I found quite haunting). You've a lot to be proud of here.
Extracted is a good word; what it did extract is sort of all over the walls and floors, and I'm not sure I want it back. :) I know what you mean about the facelessness, but if you could get the sense of it all from the feel of the production, that is really lovely, too. I need to see those paintings, hmm. <3
You break the heart I have left for this and you, Enjolras, and I hand you the weapons to do so / You harm him too. The best lines! Loved this and I'm not really into Les Miz fic, but this was lovely. Well done you!
