Once again, The Washington Post has published the winning submissions to its yearly neologism contest, in which readers are asked to supply alternate meanings for common words. If you haven't seen them, some were entertaining.

OMG. I never had. Came on e-mail from a friend the other day so didn't check the source. Strange. E-mail that's slower than snailmail. Maybe it's a virus. Wait...language is a virus. Oh no, we're all going to die.

It's one of those lists that gets periodically circulated. I think it was actually originally from The Atlantic, or maybe Harper's. It's been a while, so I don't remember. Then again, maybe when I saw it, it was already old and misattributed. ;-)

Still...worth reading again, because it's both erudite and funny. :D
