I think this is the list of classics put out by EW magazine. Not my list and I would not rate it as a 'new classic' myself... but I have seen it and I do own it... so what does that say? :-)

I think you'd like it. People tend to either love or hate it, but I'd be interested to see what you think. It's unusual, so you'd probably at least find it interesting.

I think I've actually seen pieces of it but not the whole thing. Is that the one Bruno Ganz?

Yes, it's the one with Bruno Ganz. It is a little bizarre, maybe tries too hard to be artistic and unusual, but where it succeeds it succeeds so very beautifully that the whole thing just works for me.
