Ice Cream (anti)Social with Ellen

Jun 12, 2014 20:55

Kilrenko'd had a rough few weeks at the opera tonight. Her first rehearsal had nearly caused her to quit at one point... the second went much better. It was just the aftermath that had been a train wreck.

Then this week, the girls had all wanted to know all about the dinner the previous week ( Read more... )

Ellen walks in with alcohol in hand. It's an expensive bottle of wine as well as a big bottle of Ambrosia. She smiles when she sees Kilrenko. Smiling in hopes to lift Kilrenko's spirits off the bat.

She lifts the bottle up.

"I brought some friends to help."

"Have you ever thought of asking him head on?"

She pauses.

"Or maybe not. He didn't react too well when I asked him about his love life."

Her ears all but prick up. "Oooh? Your turn. Give over..." She reaches to top off their glasses.

She makes a 'pshh' sound and shakes her head.

"It's not as juicy as I wish it was. I went over and pretended I was looking at all the places in the village. You know, being new and all... and I made an off-handed comment about it must be hard being so busy and having relationships and, well... let's just say he was not receptive to the prying."

"I don't understand it... he's quick. He's really intelligent, I could tell. Unless he's also just an ass..." she sighs and takes another deep drink of the ambrosia before setting the glass down in favor of more ice cream.

"Intelligent.... but maybe not in the social way? You know. The people good at math or music, but when it comes to talking, they can't figure out when people are into it and when they want to run away?"

"Urk," she half-agrees, stabbing her spoon into the ice cream again. "Maybe I'm looking at the problem wrong. Maybe what he needs is to read my manual..."

"Well, whatever you want to do, I'll help how I can, but I think there are cuter guys in the village other than him."

She's feeling mellow, so she curls up in place, facing Ellen and leaning against the back of the couch. "And a few much prettier women," she agrees.

She nods. "True, too. Actually, have you noticed there's not really that many ugly people here at all? It seems almost as if it's an entrance requirement."

"There's Robert. And Not-Robert, his current incarnation. There was Stine, but that was a long time ago..." she mused.

"Not Robert?"

Ellen shifts on the couch to give Kilrenko more of her attention.

"I keep forgetting you have a long history here."

"Frankenstein's creation. When he first got here, years ago, he accepted the name 'Robert,' from me. Then he returned and again accepted it.

"This time around he's refused that he's the same person, but still doesn't have a name. So in my head he's Not-Robert."

"I have to confess I have no idea who Franenstein's creation is...but it sounds to me like he would definitely need a name. Have you tried to give him a different one?"

"He was put together from the parts of corpses. And, in the monster's ego - meaning the scientist who put him together and not the unnamed one - abandoned him when the resulting chimera was not a complete success.

"I tried," she shrugs. "Who knows if he's accepted a name yet."

"That sounds like quite a story...Though... In some ways, I think I can relate. The humans didn't exactly like the result of our creation, either, and abandoned us as well."
