The wedding was last Saturday, and Courtney & I both agree that the day went spectacularly. Sure, there were teeny-tiny tweaks we would have made here and there, but we were very pleased with what we got.
I call it "Flawless Victory."
After a few never-ending days at work, we are now on our honeymoon... Greetings from Ireland! We almost didn't make it here, because I drove us to the wrong airport.
You can only imagine how well THAT one went over with my wife.
After several hours jumping back and forth between ticketing lines and a payphone, Elsa of Continental Airlines finally provided an admittedly expensive solution to my mistake. At least I now know that if I ever need to get to Dublin, I can do so with only about three hour's notice.
I also relearned that DCA IS NOT DULLES.
DCA IS REAGAN NATIONAL.
IAD IS DULLES.
Hey, at least I didn't drive us to BWI. We'll call it a "Flawed Victory." I'm sure it will be a hilarious story in twenty years, when Courtney finally forgives me.
The important thing, of course, is that we've made it to Ireland and are having a generally great time. Dublin's been fun, and tomorrow we pick up our car from the airport and head west into the countryside. Later, we'll visit the Cliffs of Moher, probably Galway, Ennis, Cork, and who knows where else. We've started keeping a travel journal in a moleskine notebook, just for our honeymoon. I look forward to filling it up even more!
Ok, it's getting late here, and our days have been pretty long recently. Say a little prayer for us that driving on the left side of the road will be another "flawless victory!"
Goodnight!
