It's like everyone I know just sort of grew younger, but I stayed the same. Normally I'd say this is just really good luck. I don't know about this one, though.

'Kay! I won't go anywhere! [Daxter'll hang out on the top deck, climbing the clown of the mini-golf course.]

[Tess is very interested in this Daxter. What was he like when he was younger? She rushes up to the top deck and stops short.

Look at those ears.]

Daxter is hanging upside-down from a part of the clown, and stares at her a little bit.]

[Oh. Right. Teeth. Those really are the second things she sees.]

[She leans in and stares at him with wide eyes.]

Uh huh. [Daxter struggles for a bit before dropping down off of the clown and rolling onto his feet.] Are you that lady?

[She leans over with a big grin and ruffles that orange hair.]

That's right. I'm Tess. I guess you really don't remember then, just like Captain Phoenix.

[The hair-ruffle makes him scowl a little bit, but he doesn't move otherwise.] I dunno. I never seen you before but I guess if you saw me when I was real little...

[She draws her hands apart and straightens herself up.]

...In the future! Or something like that, hee.

...oh. Okay. [Apparently this explanation makes complete sense to this six-year-old and he swallows it as easily as if she'd told him she just moved it down the street.] What's your name?

[That's totally why she said it the way she did. If she makes it sound like it's totally not a big deal, then it's totally not a big deal.]

How come? [Daxter picks at the fake grass boredly.]

[Oh, jeez. Why are they good friends? How does she answer that? Because one day he walked into a saloon and started flirting with her?]

Well, we're working for the same thing. We want the war to come to an end. So I kind of see you like family. You're real important to me.

There's a war? How come there's a fight? [Daxter is going to start climbing on the golf course again.]
