Bah, scurry back to the warm embrace of your foppish indie man-mothers while the rest of us melt faces!

You need to listen to Nadja. I am going to make you a doom mixtape.

Hi! I'm not sure if we've been introduced, I'm Oz. It is a pleasure to meet you!

Anyway what doom do you listen to? How good is it? I'm not a huge Nadja fan.
Top 5 doom/sludge/stoner bands of the moment:
Grief
Sleep
Iron Monkey
Electric Wizard
Orange Goblin
whoa that was really difficult!

Hi Oz, I'm jarrad and I been pallin' around with that Dan monkey since highschool although since he became a Famous Rockstar I don't see him as much. I have indeed met your goodself before.

I'm sorta new to the doom thing and you could probably call me a bit of pitchforkmedia doom neophyte. But bands that I've been digging on that trip:

sunn0)))
Nadja
Om
Earth (who are like... doomcoustic blues these days!)
Sleep etc.

I'll have to check out some more of those you posted!

Aha hi Jarrad! Sounds like you are more into the dronier side of things? That's cool but I can only recommend listening to lots more riffs. These are the albums you should get pretty much right now:
Grief: Torso
Orange Goblin: The Big Black
Electric Wizard: Dopethrone
Iron Monkey: Our Problem
Sloth: The voice of god
Sleep are one of my favourite bands of any genre of all time. Om is obviously pretty cool too.

yeah i hear you. the disillusionment grows daily...

is post-rock the new shoegaze? doomed to be unpopular for about a decade and then somewhat cool again?

i urge everyone here to ditch post-rock and fall into the loving arms of disco. (i am confident that) good places to start will be lindstrom, maurice fulton and syclops all playing perth reasonably soon.

Then walk straight past into the loving arms of shoegazey techno and dubstep.
