I spilled coffee on my brand new laptop an hour ago. I'm posting from it now, and everything seems fine, but was wondering if anyone had advice to avoid ignorantly damaging it further.
Ouch! Good that it's still working. Laptop keys are typically removable, so if you notice some stickiness in the keystroke you can pry them off and clean as required with a cotton swab and some alcohol. Removing the keys is the trickiest part. I don't have any good tips for this, but perhaps Google does.
You might check what the warranty says. Some warranty plans feature no-questions-asked immediate replacement for d'oh things like spilling coffee or dropping the computer.

Thank you! Yes, I definitely have their best warranty, with no-questions-asked replacement and repairs, but I'm going to feel so dumb to have to use it after 5 days, haha.
