Still alive. Im only watching the anime at the moment but Ive heard the manga is of course better since it covers more but Im SSOOOOOOOOO loving the anime right now, gonna read manga when anime is done.

I think the novels are being translated but Im not sure. I didnt read Baccano! novels so I dont know how they were written but I will say the DRRR anime is MUCH easier to follow then Baccano was. The first 2-3 epis kinda meld together but then it becomes more storyline based.

I think one of the scanlation groups that I have watched on my ellejay is translating the light novels. I'll try to put on my top-hat and monocle and look through the many posts and see.

ANime and manga are BOTH good. I suggest you try both at the same time if possible.

manga does some things better (i prefer izaya and kida in the manga more) while the anime organizes the story telling better i think.
