I care about you. I look for you on Twitter and here on LJ (although I don't post here anymore). I always ! when I see you post, because fuck, man, it's always been too long.
We were a long time ago supposed to do a Skype Top Gear watchalong, but that got lost in the sands of time. Maybe if I can figure it out, we can do Arrow, or something Gordon Ramsay.
Is there a way that you can meet your mom halfway if you can't come totally home? Like either in Guam (which is a US territory), or Hawaii? Can't she (or won't she) come visit you?
It's mostly that I literally can get no time off work...like if you ask for anything more than a day or two, it is an OMG BIG DEAL, and, frankly, I refuse to spend hundreds of dollars on plane tickets and days traveling just to maybe have 24 hours with my mom.
I'm sure my mom probably feels the same way about coming here, that she can't leave work, she knows I am busy and all of that. We've talked about it, but it never really progressed beyond the "yeah I should do that" stage.
I would enjoy a Skype date with you, for sure! Gordon Ramsay I would be down with, though I have probably seen everything he has ever done. XD I need to be better about reaching out. =(
First off, I want to say thank you for translating all the JDA, ABC, damijaw, EVERYTHING on your papersnow site way back then to now. I visited it so often during my late highschool/early college time 10+years ago. I was a bit distraught for not saving a backup when I found out one day the site was gone. After a couple of years I decided to do a google search today and stumbled on your Tumblr and by extension your Livejournal. Long story short, I appreciate any and all the work you did translating practically the one Japanese band I still listen to.
Second, wow... I'm sorry to hear that life over there is tough. Same can be said here in New York for too many reasons. I don't know what the right thing is to say, but really, hang in there. Upper management always sucks no matter where you go.
Thanks (though I don't know if you'll see this or not). If you're on Tumblr, feel free to add me, though I admit that most of the posts/reblogs I do there are pretty random.
I'm glad if all the work I did means something to you, and reminds people that they're pretty cool guys and talented musicians; even if with the advent of ABC, the fandom has basically been given over to absolutely banal, shallow, selfish people who just want to talk about who they think is sleeping with whom and get reblogs and likes for photographs that don't even belong to them.
Though really...it feels odd to have things that I like, but not enough to say that I like them, just on merit that I don't have the time and energy to invest in liking things that apparently you need these days. (And it's not like I can join the fandom for my work, or that would get absolutely insane--and I don't think I'm allowed to reveal my identity even if I did.)
I see it. I will create a Tumblr account just for this. I've only actively avoided it because I've mostly hear bad things originating from that site, but I suppose it's long overdue that I at least try to figure it out.
But please, do anything that makes you happy. Worklife is stressful enough as it is, combined with the current state of the world, etc., but there's always a way around. Somehow. Just laugh at it, if anything.
Aw, you don't have to go and make a Tumblr for me. Mostly I just reblog pictures of fluffy dogs over there anyway.
(but, I'm a-rumbly-in-my-tumbly over there if you want to add me. When you do, feel free to pop me a message, because Tumblr doesn't really do notifications and I don't really have the time to check daily other than on weekends.)
I'm sure I'll figure something out. Thanks for reaching out, I do appreciate it.
It's always good to come back and find your new posts here. Idk, like, I don't even know You personally, but it seems like I can always relate to You. Wish You all the best. <3 -Mon.
Fuck your boss and your underling. You shouldn't have to put up with that, I'm sorry.
I also want to remind you that you are a great friend and an interesting person! I hate that you'd think that people see you as a last resort, becuase you're really funny and intelligent. Talking to you is great!
Yeah, it's a mess for sure. He's got some stupid bullshit with his kid, too, because his stay-at-home wife doesn't speak Japanese and refuses to learn, so we basically talk behind his back about how fucking dumb he is all the time. It's just...I don't think I've ever been forced to associate with someone that has that much wrong with them, holy shit.
Thank you, though! I don't feel like a good friend right now, that's for sure. But I know you've always got my back for filling me in with the WTF from over the seas. <3

Times have changed and I'm a relic, I suppose.
