I hate my finance class

I have no idea where half of the numbers are even coming from (from within thin air!). I can do the work fine, if all the numbers are provided for me plain as day...but when I get an assignment to calculate a single number, I also get like, 12 pages full of graphs, charts and extraneous information, then I just kind of fizzle and die.

My professor ( Read more... )

finance, social fail, anxiety, crying, life

D: is it really like that? I know I'm only a junior in high school but I'm planning to go into business or something in college and if finance really sucks I don't wanna do it. HALP D:

It really is and that's how it is irl too. It's a lot easier once you gain some experience and just know what all these numbers mean, but if you're slow like me then it'll take a few more tries for things to sink in.

I just had an exam in finance and it went pretty well, especially since I basically eyeballed all the numbers for patterns.

But no, don't let my emoing deter you from business or finance :) A lot of the theories are really fun and working with other super motivated business school kids will fire you up to do even better. It's tough but I really do like what we learn. I enjoy the class a lot.

Accounting was a whole other story lol. The accounting I learned in school is a whole lot harder than entry level accounting jobs. idk why.

D: sobsob...I have such great fantasies about working in NYC and going to a skyscraper with floor to ceiling windows and an office on the 99th floor and wearing pretty clothes and jetsetting off to random locations like a businesswoman to have conferences and then coming back and telling people what to do. sigh. such a nice dream.

what kind of stuff do you learn in business? are you a business major?
