I find the fact that I'm listening to Koda Kumi rather interesting. I usually don't like her stuff because it's uninteresting/repetitive. However, I do like her FFX2 songs (Japanese please!) and other songs (XXX was cool, and I do honestly like Cherry Girl) and I do think she works hard. Admittedly I like a few of her songs as well, although her reputation and image make me want to bash her head in. :/

Flowery language can sometimes have its purposes but for the most part gets in the way of clear communication. And in my opinion, getting your point across is the key to good writing. Try not to get too down about what others are saying. Maybe they just don't understand the good in clear writing.
