I’m utterly exhausted.  I didn’t get home until 12:30 and of course at that point was too wired from the activities of the night to sleep right away.  I’m hanging out on my friend’s porch with people we are drinking a beer and watching the activities go on in the neighborhood: A super nice BMW parks in a fire lane only to be towed within 10 minutes

There is a penchant in my family for listening to police/fire scanners. My aunt and I spent a Memorial Day listening to the progress of a huge fire in the next borough over. Turns out, the fire department kept running out of water and had to pump out of a nearby creek to put the blaze out.
